UPDATE – Meningitis Cases

We have now had a second confirmed case of Meningitis from a girl in the same Year 8 class at Cherbourg, as the original pupil.

Luckily the parents acted very swiftly and it has not been as aggressive as in the first case. Both girls are doing well and are being released from hospital today but will be under day care for the foreseeable future.

The symptoms noticed by the parents, in addition to those sent out previously are:-

  • Temperature that builds over time
  • Stomach Ache
  • Dark brown vomit
  • Headache
  • Spots then emerge.

I have spoken to both sets of parents and we are working with Public Health England as to our next steps.

If your child exhibits any of these symptoms please call 111 immediately as the quicker it can be caught the less severe it will become. If necessary call 999.

Best wishes,

Mission Christmas HQ

Ellie, Chief Elf at Mission Christmas HQ needs your help!

She has a few REALLY huge orders coming up on Friday, all of which mean that we need to find 6000 presents, for disadvantaged children/ teenagers, for the warehouse by the end of the day on Monday!

Ellie and her team can then get them sorted and sent out.

Sounds like a tall order? Yes it does, but if you have any gifts that you have already collected, please let us know and we will try to arrange a collection on Thursday or Friday this week or Monday.
