Science Geneva Trip – 2018

The Science department is offering an opportunity for next year’s year 11 and 10 to visit Geneva, home of CERN, the research institute which houses the Large Hadron Collider.

This is an exciting and thoroughly educational trip, which involves a day trip to CERN, a visit to the United Nations building, two Museum trips and a chance to take in the culture of the city of Geneva. As year 10 are currently on work experience, we are making the letter available via our website for download. There are only 25 spaces for this trip and if we receive more than this, places will be selected at random.
A small number of letters will be available from reception on both campuses for current year 10 students to collect if you are unable to print from home.
Current year 9 students can collect a letter directly from Mr Neil or Miss Bax.

Year 6 Science Induction Day

Today we have hosted our Year 6 Induction Day. We were delighted to welcome the children that will be starting Year 7 with us in September.
We have done a variety of experiments to show how we do things: flame tests, screaming jelly babies, elephant’s toothpaste and whoosh bottles.
We love teaching science and would love our new Year 7s to get involved with science over the summer too.
We have a specially designed challenge pack that we would like all our young scientists to work on over the summer. It can be downloaded from the Crestwood homepage, it’s called, “Get Ready for Science”.
It can be scanned and emailed or it can be given to us in September. We hope it helps to prepare our students for the exciting science that we do in Year 7.
Good luck.
