An Egg-cellent Red Nose Day

Egg Russian Roulette

Egg Russian Roulette

On Friday 13th March 2015 Crestwood College went all out to support Red Nose Day, the staff and students took part in a non-uniform day – wearing something red and paying for the privilege!

At lunchtime each tutor group ran a stall to raise even more money for Comic Relief – there were cake stalls, face painters, games and competitions in the Crescent, and outside a penalty shoot-out of epic proportions took place – but Mr Whittick might regret suggesting egg Russian Roulette in his assembly earlier in the week as some of the biggest crowds turned out to see him and several other “willing” members of staff took their chances – would their egg be hard boiled or raw? Mr Owens got the short straw with 5 raw eggs in a row! Some brave year 9 volunteers also faced an egging at the hands of their friends.

Pupils also had the chance to get some revenge on their teachers at the “Soak a Teacher” stall – a pound for throwing three wet sponges at a member of staff seemed to be a popular option with all the year groups – Thanks to Emily Pilavachi and Rachel Crouch for setting that one up!

All in all it was a great event which raised £758.89 for Comic relief – and the best news is that the Government has promised to double all amounts raised this year.
