The Humanities are fundamental to developing the student’s understanding of their place in the world.

Through the Humanities students can find out and appreciate the physical and human events that have shaped the society and country in which they live both through history and at the present time.

It encourages and enables students to evaluate the world in which they live and make positive and meaningful decisions about the future.

Great emphasis is placed upon developing the students’ ongoing skills and curiosity about their surroundings, which is supported through fieldwork and visits.

The course covers the requirements of the National Curriculum for History, Geography and Religious Studies.

At Key Stage 4 students have the opportunity to follow GCSE courses in Geography and History.
