Extra Curricular

Trips can be a valuable and enriching experience for students, giving them opportunities to broaden their horizons, practise their language skills, understand the cultural differences that exist and work together as part of a small group, in a different environment away from the College. We also participate in enterprise and activity challenges organised by Solent Education Business Partnership.

Many students take part in after school sports clubs. As well as the traditional sports such as netball, football, hockey, basketball and rugby, we are a leading school for volleyball. We win many sporting competitions including the Hampshire Cup for football and have students that play at a National level. We also have may “rising stars” who represent the College at County, Regional and National level, particularly in football and volleyball.

We are fortunate to have excellent links with The Sparsholt Football Academy. The coaches run sessions at our school and many of our students go on to this provision at Post 16.

Our steel bands are a strong feature of Crestwood and we have bands in all year groups. Our elite steel band “Panatical” have received national recognition by playing at the anniversary of The Royal Associated Board of Music at the Cadogan Hall and have also reached the finals of the National Music for Youth on numerous occasions. They also play across Eastleigh, the Exmouth Festival and are a common feature at international cricket matches at the Ageas Bowl. We have an excellent jazz band, rock band and our vocal talent is rapidly developing to a high standard.
